Grænaborg will be built in the land of Grænabyggð, Zone 1, in Vogar.

All infrastructure is already in place and ready for the first stages of development. A preschool and primary school are nearby, and plans are underway to build a new preschool and a new primary school in coming years, in line with the growth of the neighbourhood.

This superbly located neighborhood will be developed over the next few years in a scenic, family-friendly and tranquil seaside setting. The neighborhood is linked to the current community so all services are close by.

Grænabyggð is expected to be a neighbourhood with around 1,500 residents, and a total of 800 apartments are expected to be built over a 10-year period. Although there will be a mixture of building types, the main focus will be on small single family dwellings.

The development of the area is according to a 10-year plan, pursuant to an agreement between Grænabyggð ehf. and the municipality of Vogar. By spreading the construction period over 10 years, development and growth will take place in slow and steady steps so necessary infrastructure can be developed concurrently.
